Urban ride

More and more people ditch their cars and commute by bike instead. It is often surprisingly faster. And whether you want to save the environment, do something for your fitness and health, or enjoy being outdoors, you must be properly equipped for such a city ride.

Let's start with the most important equipment (besides a bike of course :) It is also an equipment that many people think they don't need for a short ride around town - a helmet. Don't be a fool, having a helmet on, even if it's just for a trip to get rolls, can be crucial to your happy return home. It's not just about how carefully you ride your bike, but bike paths are full of other users, including those on unreasonably fast electric scooters. And let's not forget to mention rail tracks. If you don't have to deal with them on your journey, you're lucky. In short, an accident can happen to you anywhere, anytime, and even experienced cyclists are not immune to risk. You may encounter an inattentive driver, unexpected weather conditions may arise, your bike may fail technically, or you may make a mistake out of inattention. Wearing a helmet is the simplest precaution against the possible consequences of these unforeseen situations.

At FORCE you can find two types of helmets perfect for your city ride. The METROPOLIS helmet has an integrated flasher to ensure safe riding even in adverse light conditions. DOWNTOWN helmets come in four colours and thanks to the simple design and pleasant shape, you won't want to leave it at home.

Another common mistake of urban cyclists is the absence of lights. Keep at least the smallest set of TWIST or NIB lights handy, which can easily fit in the backpack or a pocket. This way, if you're stuck somewhere, you can ride safely in the dark. In addition to the lights, it is essential to have reflectors on your bike (front white and rear red, as well as orange on both sides of the pedals), which are among the mandatory equipment of a bicycle. Other mandatory features include front and rear brakes as well as orange or reflective reflectors in the weave of the front, rear or both wheels.

Other elements that are not compulsory but can make your cycling more enjoyable are mudguards, a chain guard to prevent your clothes from getting dirty and a bell to save your vocal cords and often your nerves on the cycle lanes. And to make sure your bike doesn't get stolen, get a proper bike lock.
