The first half of the Giro D'Italia was more than a success for the IWG team, as they were able to claim the purple and white jersey and a phenomenal stage win for Biniam Girmay in stage 10. 
Unfortunately, young Biniam had to withdraw from the competition after this stage due to injury and the team has to continue without its biggest favourite for stage wins.
However, in the 12th stage, it turned out that Biniam was not the only one with a hand in the fire. Lorenzo Rota performed brilliantly during the final stage and only missed victory by a few tens of centimetres in the final spurt. As far as the overall classification is concerned, the phenomenal performance of Domenico Pozzovivo must be highlighted here. After 15 stages, Domenico is in 5th place overall, just one minute behind the leader Carapaz! The overall standings are far from decided and we are anxiously waiting to see what Domenico will come up with in the following challenging stages.
