On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Biniam Girmay and the Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux team made the history!
Young Eritrean rider triumphed in the 10th stage of the Giro d'Italia. This finish sprint was preceded by a tremendous effort by all team members to neutralize peloton escape attempts. In the final climb on Monsan, even the riders in the overall standings, Domenico Pozzovivo and Jan Hirt, helped to disengage from the top sprinters in the peloton. The final meters of the stage seemed to be like a "Deja Vu" of the very first stage only with the difference that Biniam was the one who crossed the finish line first.
